FAQs

What is considered a setup service?

Intonation is critical for accurate pitch on a guitar. It can be changed by modifying the saddle length, which affects the center of the string. The guitar will play in tune if the middle is over the 12th fret at the proper location. If not, the chords will sound off. Acoustic guitars do not usually have movable saddles; however, the neck bowing and intonation are connected. The neck's straightness can adjust intonation if equipped with an adjustable truss rod.

Your technician at Axe Tech Company can determine whether or not intonation can be altered using the neck. We provide several alternatives for servicing all guitars and fretted instruments, and you may schedule a free consultation.

What is the expected turnaround time?

It all depends on the type of instrument and the service you want performed.

Typical restringing services take 30 to 60 minutes, while complete setup services take 1 to 2 hours. If you schedule a complimentary drop-off and delivery outside the shop, the service and drop-off will be executed the following business day. If you require modification services, please be aware that these are subject to technical approval and may take longer because they are charged by the “bench hour.”

Can I bring the strings I provided to be put on?

Yes. You are more than welcome to supply the strings as long as they are appropriate for the instrument to be restrung and within a suitable gauge. Delicate or heavy gauge strings not installed according to the manufacturer's requirements usually cause installation problems. Keep this in mind. Because 08 gauge strings are thin, they can break high E during installation. You will be informed of this before the commencement of the service.

Moreover, your service includes a set of strings for the instrument. The provided set won't "be thrown in," and the entire service will be discounted at value if you decide to use your own set. Your expert will contact you and ask that you use the service strings provided if any of the strings snap during installation or can not be adequately fitted.

Do I get a warranty with any of my services?

At Axe Tech Company, we take great pride in our work and give it our all to make sure your instrument is set properly so that you, the player, can get the most out of it. Having said that, our goal is to offer a "one-stop shop" service that handles every aspect and keeps you updated on the state of your instrument and any improvements as recommended. Your instrument is carefully cared for from start to finish, and it never leaves the shop until the repair is completed correctly the first time.

All of our services come with a limited 14-day warranty following instrument return date and tendered service, should that ever become the case. Please let us know if there is anything about your service that you are not entirely happy with, and we will try our best to address your concerns.
